Chelsea star Sam Kerr and his fiancée, West Ham United midfielder Kristie Mewis, have shared exciting news with the football world – they are expecting their first child in 2025.
The couple announced the news in a touching Instagram post on Kerr’s account. The caption read: “Baby Mewis Kerr due 2025!” Mewis, 33, announced she is expecting her first child.
Fans, players and both clubs were quick to offer their congratulations on the couple’s social media. West Ham posted: “Congratulations to Kristie and her partner Sam”, with Chelsea sharing a similar message of support.
Kerr, 31, is one of the top stars in women’s football. She holds the record as Australia’s all-time top scorer and is a well-known figure in the Women’s Super League. Although she is currently on hiatus due to a knee injury, this good news is the highlight of her year.
Kerr and Mewis have been together since 2021 and are one of the most popular couples in football. Prior to Mewis, Kerr was in a relationship with her former teammate Nicky Stanton.
